TPG Telecom Drops $407M To Boost Broadband Infrastructure

Law360, New York (December 9, 2013, 5:21 PM EST) -- TPG Telecom Inc. will buy Telecom New Zealand Ltd.'s Australia Pty Ltd. and its subsidiaries for AU$450 million ($407 million) in an all-cash, no-debt transaction in an effort to strengthen its standing in Australia's mobile industry, TPG said Monday.

The deal lands TPG all of AAPT's telecom infrastructure, including 6,800 miles of fibers across six states and territories, fiber across 1,500 premises, widespread mid-band Ethernet capability and 15 data centers across all major capital cities, the company said.
