SAC Cooperator Says He Aided Many Insider-Trading Probes

Law360, New York (December 11, 2013, 6:42 PM EST) -- A central cooperator in the case against SAC Capital Advisors LP portfolio manager Michael Steinberg testified Wednesday that he had aided about a half-dozen insider trading investigations, a response to defense suggestions that he falsely implicated Steinberg in a last ditch bid for a plea deal.

Jon Horvath, a former SAC analyst who worked for Steinberg, said he provided the government with information on alleged insider trading by employees at Sun Microsystems Inc., Ingram Micro Inc., and unnamed investment banks and consulting firms.
