Rouse Properties Drops $293M On Va., Md. Malls

Law360, New York (December 12, 2013, 1:47 PM EST) -- Rouse Properties Inc., which owns shopping malls across the country, has paid $292.5 million for two malls in Virginia and Maryland with nearly 1.9 million square feet of combined retail space from affiliates of The Macerich Co., it said Wednesday. 

Rouse said it has acquired the 1.018-million-square-foot Chesterfield Towne Center, in Richmond, Va., and 862,000-square-foot The Centre at Salisbury, in Salisbury, Md., in a move the company said will strengthen its already “dominant” portfolio of middle-market regional malls.
