US Says It Won't Ease Sanctions During Interim Iran Deal

Law360, New York (December 12, 2013, 4:37 PM EST) -- The U.S. Departments of Treasury and State said Thursday that a recent preliminary pact with the government of Iran over its nuclear program would not prevent the U.S. from continuing to crack down on violations of existing sanctions against the Middle Eastern country.

The departments said they had designated a list of companies and individuals that have evaded sanctions against Iran and provided support for the country’s nuclear program, including some that have engaged in transactions on behalf of the previously designated National Iranian Tanker Co.,...
