Studies Find Little To Love In Google Antitrust Offer

Law360, New York (December 13, 2013, 7:02 PM EST) -- Rivals on Thursday criticized Google Inc.'s proposal to settle the European Commission's investigation into claims that the Internet search giant favors its own products over competing offerings, saying consumer studies proved the offer would only make the situation worse.

Two groups made up of Google rivals including Microsoft Corp., Oracle Inc., among others, published the results of separate studies showing Google's proposal to include competing links in its specialized search results was still far more likely to direct traffic to Google's own offerings.
