Canadian Antitrust Watchdog Demands Google Data

Law360, New York (December 16, 2013, 6:12 PM EST) -- Canada's Competition Bureau asked a judge Wednesday to force Google Inc.'s local unit to provide information for the agency's investigation into the Internet giant's search and advertising practices.

The commissioner of competition lodged an application with the Canadian federal court in Ottawa seeking an order requiring Google Canada Corp. to turn over information for the bureau's investigation into Google's search and search advertising services, a probe that has been going on since at least May.
