Kaye Scholer Wins $4.2M Attys' Fees In GSC Bankruptcy Row

Law360, Los Angeles (December 16, 2013, 10:02 PM EST) -- A New York bankruptcy judge rejected allegations that Kaye Scholer LLP violated ethical rules in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy representation of investment firm GSC Group Inc., approving on Thursday a reduced fee request of $4.2 million for the firm’s work.

In Thursday’s decision, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Shelley C. Chapman wrote that the law firm was not to blame for the potential conflict of interest that arose when a fee-sharing arrangement between two other parties in the suit was linked to Kaye Scholer.
