EEOC Made Cos. Pay Record-Breaking $372M In 2013

Law360, New York (December 17, 2013, 8:26 PM EST) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission secured $372.1 million in relief from the private sector during the 2013 fiscal year, a record in monetary benefits collected through enforcement actions, the agency said Monday.

The $372.1 million the EEOC obtained from private sector employers this year trumps last year's also record-breaking enforcement spoils by $6.7 million, according to the EEOC's Performance and Accountability Report for fiscal year 2013. The agency's fiscal year ended Sept. 30.
