EU Watchdog Weighing Gazprom, Google Antitrust Proposals

Law360, New York (December 18, 2013, 4:41 PM EST) -- The European Commission's competition chief said Wednesday that the watchdog would probably have to meet further with Gazprom OAO to iron out the energy company's proposed antitrust settlement and suggested there might be news in the Google Inc. case by the end of the week.

The Russian natural gas giant proposed commitments to the European Union antitrust enforcer last week in an attempt to resolve an abuse of dominance investigation into the company's conduct in Eastern Europe's gas markets.
