KLA-Tencor Asks Court To Toss Fujitsu Patent

Law360, New York (March 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- U.S. semiconductor-maker KLA-Tencor Corp. has sued Fujitsu Ltd., alleging that the Japanese electronics company's patent for a method of making semiconductor chips using advanced optics is invalid.

Fujitsu is not currently suing KLA-Tencor over the patent, but KLA-Tencor, implicated as a third party in another suit by Fujitsu concerning the patent, apparently hopes to nip a possible infringement suit in the bud.
