Fla. AG Settles With Telecom Co. Over Unauthorized Charges

Law360, Miami (December 18, 2013, 4:59 PM EST) -- Florida's attorney general on Wednesday announced a multimillion-dollar settlement with now-defunct telecommunications company DaData Inc. over allegations that it charged customers for voice mail and other telephone services without their consent.

Palm Harbor, Fla.-based DaData and seven related companies agreed to refund all charges billed since July 1, 2009, to Florida customers who didn't consent to the services for which they were charged, according to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.
