Daimler Gets Aston Martin Stake In Mercedes Engine Deal

Law360, New York (December 19, 2013, 3:26 PM EST) -- Daimler AG will partner with Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. to develop new bespoke V8 engines for the British luxury automaker's new line of cars in exchange for 5 percent of nonvoting shares in Aston Martin, Daimler said Thursday.

The partnership will go through Mercedes-AMG, which is Daimler's fully-owned subsidiary. Besides getting the nonvoting shares from international investors, Daimler will also get an observer status on the Aston Martin board, the companies said.
