EU Raids Lufthansa, International Passenger Airlines

Law360, New York (March 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- European Commission officials raided offices of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and several other international passenger airlines on Tuesday, claiming they had reason to believe the companies were involved in possible price-fixing related to long-haul routes.

The airlines under investigation provide passenger transport on long-haul routes from Europe to destinations outside the EU, the EC said.

“The commission has reason to believe that the companies concerned may have violated EC Treaty rules on restrictive business practices,” the EC added.
