Insurer On The Hook For Donkey Ball Injury Claims

Law360, New York (December 20, 2013, 3:44 PM EST) -- Two middle school teachers who were hurt playing “donkey ball” have come out on top in an coverage battle with West Bend Mutual Insurance Co., according to a Pennsylvania federal court order posted Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Eduardo Robreno held that West Bend must defend and indemnify policyholder Buckeye Donkey Ball LLC against a lawsuit brought by Amanda Sciolla and Meredith Hopkins over their injuries from the game, in which participants play indoor basketball while riding atop donkeys, according to the decision.
