Senate Confirms Obama Pick For IRS Chief

Law360, New York (December 20, 2013, 1:06 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate on Friday voted to confirm John Koskinen to lead the Internal Revenue Service as the agency looks to rebound from controversy and continue implementing President Obama's landmark health care law.

Koskinen is a retired business executive and former nonexecutive chairman of Freddie Mac who will be looking to provide stability at the top of the IRS. With the Senate's vote, Koskinen is poised to become the fourth person to helm the agency since 2012.
