IRS Issues Proposed Rule On ACA Wraparound Coverage

Law360, New York (December 20, 2013, 6:12 PM EST) -- The Internal Revenue Service released proposed regulations Friday that will allow employers to provide limited vision, dental and wraparound health care coverage without disqualifying their employees for tax credits used to obtain health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

The proposed regulations are meant to help workers who cannot afford premiums on their employer's health insurance plan and subsequently obtain insurance coverage under an ACA exchange that provides less benefits than the employer's plan.
