Home Depot Joins Row Over AU Optronics' LCD Price-Fixing

Law360, New York (January 2, 2014, 2:13 PM EST) -- Home Depot USA Inc. on Tuesday became the latest retailer to seek damages from Taiwanese manufacturer AU Optronics Corp. in California federal court for the company's alleged role in a conspiracy to manipulate prices on liquid crystal display products.

The home improvement giant said it purchased more than $150 million worth of LCD products from AUO from 1996 through 2006, during which the company and other co-conspirators set up a system to fix prices on those products, drawing scrutiny from competition enforcement authorities around the globe....
