Apple Denies Cooperating With NSA On IPhone Spyware

Law360, New York (January 2, 2014, 12:38 PM EST) -- Apple Inc. on Wednesday rejected claims that it worked with the National Security Agency to allow backdoor access to iPhones and other products, saying it was unaware of a program purportedly giving the agency widespread access to user information on Apple devices.

The denial comes in response to leaked documents revealed on Sunday by Germany's Der Spiegel suggesting an elite NSA unit has developed a slate of software programs allowing the agency unfettered access to iPhones and other popular mobile devices.
