UK Atty Fined For Leaking JK Rowling Pseudonym

Law360, New York (January 2, 2014, 2:23 PM EST) -- An independent British regulator on Monday fined and officially rebuked a Russells Solicitors attorney who let slip that J.K. Rowling, creator of the wildly popular Harry Potter series, was the author of a crime novel published under the name Robert Galbraith.

Britain’s Solicitors Regulation Authority hit Russells partner Christopher Gossage with a fine of £1,000 ($1,644) and served him with a written rebuke for “disclosing confidential information about a client to a third party” in violation of the SRA’s code of conduct, according to a sanction...
