Polartec Hits Lamour With Suit Over Wicking Fabric Patent

Law360, New York (January 3, 2014, 6:26 PM EST) -- Polartec LLC accused a rival sportswear manufacturer of ripping off a patented sweatshirt fabric designed to keep wearers dry, according to an infringement suit filed Friday in Massachusetts federal court.

Products made by a Lamour Global Inc. unit violated a patent exclusively licensed by Polartec covering a fabric that rapidly moves moisture away from the skin, according to the suit, which also accused the Canadian company of ignoring a warning letter that its merchandise might be unlawful.
