Appeals Court Gives Grasso Judge Thumbs Up

Law360, New York (March 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A New York appeals court said Tuesday that the justice presiding in the trial over erstwhile New York Stock Exchange Chairman Richard Grasso's $187.5 million exit package was acting within his discretion when he declined to recuse himself from the case.

The First Judicial Department of the New York State Supreme Court’s Appellate Division said in its decision that there was nothing in the record to show that Justice Charles E. Ramos couldn't be impartial.
