Transit Union Calls For Heightened Transit Tax Credit

Law360, New York (January 3, 2014, 5:55 PM EST) -- The continent’s largest union of transit workers on Friday accused Congress of raising taxes on commuters by failing to make permanent tax breaks for those who take public transportation.

The Commuter Parity Act would allow for $220 per month in pretax benefits for commuters who use public transit. That figure was the tax break commuters got in 2013, but it dropped to $125 per month with no action from Congress at the start of the new year.
