Calif. Appeals Court Affirms Plastic Bag Ban As Precedent

Law360, New York (January 6, 2014, 3:58 PM EST) -- A California appeals court said Friday that a ruling last month upholding San Francisco's plastic bag ban should be applied as precedent for future court challenges against the city and other state municipalities that issue similar measures.

Granting requests from environmental groups and city officials, the First District Court of Appeal agreed to publish the decision after initially issuing an unpublished ruling in December.
