Website Takedown Blocked In School-Lunch Cos.' IP Row

Law360, San Francisco (January 6, 2014, 7:31 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Monday ordered school lunch provider Choice Foodservices LLC to stop its efforts to take down a rival's website after Choice successfully convinced Amazon Web Services to shutter an earlier version of the site that allegedly infringed Choice's copyright.

U.S. District Court Judge William Alsup's ruling went beyond granting defendant Nob Hill Catering Inc.'s motion for a temporary restraining order, instead imposing a preliminary injunction on Choice's efforts to shut down Nob Hill's allegedly infringing site under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act....
