Law360, New York (January 6, 2014, 5:48 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge indicated Monday that he would likely greenlight a Microsoft Corp. suit accusing patent-licensing company Acacia Research Corp. of violating a deal to license smartphone and tablet patents, saying Acacia's proposed motion to dismiss seemed uncompelling.
U.S. District Judge Paul Crotty said Acacia would likely lose any motion to dismiss it made.
"My strong disposition on this is to deny it," he said in a conference in Manhattan federal court.
