Ex-Rep. Renzi Denied Bail Pending Corruption Appeal

Law360, Los Angeles (January 7, 2014, 9:48 PM EST) -- An Arizona federal judge denied bail to former Rep. Rick Renzi, R-Ariz., shutting down his chance to walk free while he awaits appeal of a corruption conviction, according to an order filed Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge David C. Bury slammed the door on Renzi’s request, saying he is unlikely to present an argument that changes the outcome of the suit in the face of evidence that is “not debatable,” according to the decision.
