Vt. Senator Pushes For Delay On Flood Insurance Hikes

Law360, New York (January 8, 2014, 3:11 PM EST) -- Democrat Vermont Sen. Anthony Pollina on Tuesday introduced a resolution urging the U.S. Congress to greenlight a bill that could delay flood insurance rate hikes for four years, amid expectations that the Senate will vote on the divisive measure within the next week.

Pollina pressed federal lawmakers to approve the Homeowners Flood Insurance Affordability Act to avoid a “violent rise” in flood insurance premiums under the government backed National Flood Insurance Premiums.
