Court Denies N.J.'s Late Claim Against W.R. Grace

Law360 (March 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal district court has ruled against New Jersey environmental regulators in their wrangling with W.R. Grace & Co. over asbestos liabilities, upholding a bankruptcy court's earlier ruling that denied the state's claims.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware rejected the bid by New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection to file a late proof of claim against the chemical manufacturer, ruling Tuesday that the state had missed its chance.
