NJ Senate OKs Bill To Redesignate Medical Marijuana

Law360, New York (January 9, 2014, 8:18 PM EST) -- The New Jersey Senate on Thursday passed legislation that would treat prescribed medical marijuana as being equivalent to other legal prescription drugs, a measure designed to prevent medical marijuana users being booted from organ-transplant waiting lists.

In a 33-5 vote, the New Jersey Senate approved A-765, which would designate legally prescribed medical marijuana as authorized medication instead of an illicit substance.
