Commerce Opens Duty Probe On Bleaching Agent From China

Law360, New York (January 9, 2014, 3:58 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce announced Wednesday that it will look into allegations that Chinese shipments of chemical compound sometimes used as a bleaching agent are being sold in the U.S. at unfairly low prices and gaining an advantage from unruly government subsidies.

Commerce's International Trade Administration made its announcement a little over three weeks after the U.S. International Trade Commission opted to initiate its own probe into the anti-dumping and countervailing duty petition filed by Arch Chemical Inc., which has alleged that its business is being harmed...
