Fla. Gov. Pledges $100M Toward Promoting Tourism

Law360, Miami (January 10, 2014, 7:31 PM EST) -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced Friday that he will direct a “historic” $100 million in funding in his 2014-2015 budget toward Visit Florida, a nonprofit that is the state's official tourism marketing arm, with the goal of attracting more visitors and generating more jobs.

The governor is looking to build upon recent records' terms of visitors, tourism spending and employment in what has long been one of the pillars of the Sunshine State's economy.
