Mitsui Invests $75M In Indonesian Telecom Co.

Law360, New York (January 10, 2014, 4:51 PM EST) -- Mitsui & Co. Ltd. has launched a new high-speed mobile service in Indonesia after investing $75 million in PT Internux, a telecommunications operator owned by the Indonesian conglomerate Lippo Group, Mitsui said Friday.

The company said it has already launched the Long Term Evolution service in Jakarta, Indonesia's capital and largest city, and surrounding areas and intends to expand the service in the country. The new LTE service adds to a saturated Indonesian market for telecommunication services, but Mitsui said the number of smartphone users in the country is on the rise.
