New UK Antitrust Watchdog Fleshes Out Merger Guidance

Law360, New York (January 13, 2014, 7:26 PM EST) -- The U.K.'s new Competition and Markets Authority called for giving merging companies greater access to decision makers early in the review process and explained how it would dole out administrative penalties as part of broader guidance published Friday.

The CMA, which is set to take over in April competition enforcement in the U.K. from the country's two existing watchdogs, put out guidance on how it will use some of its new legal powers under reforms to the country's competition laws passed in early 2013.
