Russian Minister Refuses Summons in Yukos Case

Law360, New York (January 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A group of U.S. shareholders in Yukos Oil Company served Russia’s Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin with court papers in a lawsuit accusing the Russian government of scheming to confiscate and renationalize the disgraced oil producer without paying damages to its owners.

Representatives of the 12 minority stockholders delivered a subpoena to Kudrin on January 12 while he was on an official visit in Washington, D.C. to plan next month's meeting of a group of eight finance ministers in Moscow.
