Fla. Gov. Proposes Record $8.8B Transportation Budget

Law360, Miami (January 13, 2014, 7:50 PM EST) -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced Monday that his 2014-15 proposed budget will recommend to fully fund the state Department of Transportation's Work Program with a record $8.8 billion in funding, continuing a focus on infrastructure spending.

The governor's announcement was made at Jacksonville's port, which will share $138.9 million in funding with the state's other seaports. Funding will also go to a variety of projects to improve the state's roads and bridges that the governor and other officials say will improve Floridians' lives and help grow...
