Multi-State Pilgrim's Pride FLSA Class Certified

Law360, New York (March 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Employees from 21 Pilgrim's Pride Corp. facilities spanning 10 states may now opt in to a suit accusing the poultry company of not compensating employees for time spent donning and doffing safety gear.

On Thursday afternoon, Judge Harry F. Barnes of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas conditionally certified the multidistrict lawsuit as a collective action under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
