MGA Refiles Bratz Trade Secrets Case Against Mattel

By Jeff Sistrunk (January 13, 2014, 3:48 PM EST) -- MGA Entertainment Inc. on Monday sued Mattel Inc. for $1 billion in California state court for allegedly stealing trade secrets relating to its Bratz line of dolls, a year after the Ninth Circuit vacated a federal jury's damages award to MGA based on a finding that Mattel was liable for misappropriating the trade secrets. 

In the latest chapter of an epic legal battle between the rival companies, MGA refiled its claim against Mattel under the Uniform Trade Secrets Act in California state court in Los Angeles, asking the court to find that Mattel is liable for willful and deceptive business practices....
