NHTSA Expands Probe Into Chrysler Jeep Fires

Law360, New York (January 15, 2014, 3:26 PM EST) -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has widened an investigation into Chrysler Group LLC jeeps following dozens of new reports that the lights on the vehicles' sun visors shorted and caused fires.

NHTSA's Office of Defect Investigations opened a probe into an estimated 146,000 model year 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokees in August, after the agency received three reports of fires from consumers.
