Fla. Enviro Group Puts Land-Buying Amendment On Ballot

Law360, New York (January 16, 2014, 7:31 PM EST) -- An environmental group behind a proposed state constitutional amendment that would dedicate part of an existing real estate tax to fund the state's land-buying conservation program announced Thursday that it had collected enough signatures to get the amendment on the November ballot.

Florida Water and Land Legacy said it had collected nearly 686,000 validated signatures on its petition, passing the required number of signatures by almost 3,000. The group’s Water and Land Conservation Amendment will now be decided upon by voters later this year.
