BlackBerry Will Sell Most Of Its Canadian Real Estate

Law360, New York (January 22, 2014, 2:17 PM EST) -- BlackBerry Ltd. said on Tuesday that it will sell most of its Canadian real estate, which includes 3 million square feet of office space.

The company didn't say how much it expects to realize from the sales, which will take the form of sale-leasebacks and vacant asset sales. BlackBerry posted a $4.4 billion loss in the third quarter of 2013 and has taken multiple measures to try to shore its finances, including a $250 million sale of 6 percent of subordinated convertible debentures to Fairfax Financial...
