Hemisphere Pays $102M For 3 Spanish-Language Networks

Law360, New York (January 23, 2014, 1:23 PM EST) -- Spanish-language television group Hemisphere Media Group Inc. has agreed to acquire a trio of new networks targeting the burgeoning Hispanic market for $102.2 million, the company announced Thursday.

According to Hemisphere, it is set to take over Pasiones, a network dedicated to popular telenovelas and other Spanish-language drama series; Centroamerica TV, which focuses on Central American news, entertainment and soccer; and TV Dominicana, which markets news, entertainment and baseball programming to Dominicans living in the U.S. All three are owned by Media World LLC, a subsidiary...
