SEC Bars Ex-Analyst In Insider Trading Case Over IBM Deal

Law360, San Diego (January 23, 2014, 11:12 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday barred for five years a former Australian analyst from the securities industry as part of an administrative settlement after he pled guilty to taking part in a scheme to trade ahead of a 2009 IBM Corp. acquisition using insider tips from an attorney friend.
