Settlement Of Riddex False Ad Claims Gets Green Light

Law360, Miami (January 24, 2014, 9:17 PM EST) -- A Florida federal judge on Friday said he would preliminarily approve the settlement of a class action alleging Global Concepts Ltd. Inc. falsely advertised the effectiveness of the Riddex electronic pest control system, which the company sells through TV ads.

U.S. Magistrate Judge William C. Turnoff said he would certify the class and preliminarily sign off on the deal, which allows purchasers of Riddex to submit claims for cash refunds of the $14.95 product, up to $1,000 per claimant.
