Green Groups Lose Bid To Stop Fracking In Calif.

Law360, New York (January 24, 2014, 3:38 PM EST) -- A California judge has tossed an environmental suit attempting to block hydraulic fracturing activity in the state, finding that the policy can't be challenged until the state has finalized its fracking regulations.

Alameda County Judge Evelio Grillo said in a Jan. 17 ruling that California's Senate Bill 4 establishes a regulatory review process for fracking and moots claims by the Center for Biological Diversity and other groups calling for more stringent review under the California Environmental Quality Act.
