Ind. Senate OKs Veteran Tax Exemption Expansion

Law360, New York (January 24, 2014, 2:12 PM EST) -- The Indiana Senate on Thursday unanimously approved legislation to expand the scope of its property tax deduction program for disabled veterans.

Currently, the program applies to properties that are worth $143,160 or less. But Senate Bill 135 seeks to raise the qualification cap to $195,600, which will increase participation in the program by nearly 25 percent, lawmakers said.
