Pa. Court Strikes Cert. In Doctors' Insurance Claim Suit

Law360, Philadelphia (January 24, 2014, 5:12 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania Superior Court on Friday overturned an order granting class certification to a set of doctors who were allegedly stiffed on interest for bills paid late by Progressive Insurance Co. as part of its auto insurance coverage.

The three-judge panel said that the facts of the case were better suited to individual inquiry and it also overturned the partial summary judgment order against Progressive that would force the insurance company to pay doctors the 12 percent interest on the overdue claims.
