High Court Rebuffs Ex-HealthSouth CEO's Bribery Appeal

Law360, New York (January 27, 2014, 1:19 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to take up the appeal over HealthSouth Corp. founder Richard Scrushy's conviction for his role in a campaign bribery scheme involving now-imprisoned former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.

In a brief order, the high court denied Scrushy's petition for a writ of certiorari, noting that Justice Elena Kagan did not take part in the decision.
