J&J Beats $600M Stent Patent Verdict For Good

Law360, New York (January 27, 2014, 7:04 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to revisit a Federal Circuit ruling that Johnson & Johnson did not infringe a doctor’s stent patent, conclusively freeing the company from a jury verdict and a damages award of nearly $600 million.

As is common, the justices offered no explanation for declining to hear the case, which J&J had lost at the district court level in 2011, resulting in a $593 million judgment that the Federal Circuit vacated last year.
