Apple Asks Fed. Circ. To Nix Samsung Bid For IPhone Ban

Law360, New York (January 28, 2014, 7:20 PM EST) -- Apple Inc. on Monday urged the Federal Circuit to reject an effort by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. to revive its U.S. International Trade Commission patent case alleging that the iPhone and iPad infringe its patents, after the White House vetoed an import ban Samsung won earlier in the case.

Samsung has appealed the ITC's ruling that Apple did not infringe a standard-essential mobile communications patent, but Apple argued in its brief that the appeal "suffers from a wide range of factual and legal errors."
