DuPont Never Made Chemical Secrets Public, Expert Says

Law360, San Francisco (January 28, 2014, 5:16 PM EST) -- DuPont Corp.'s fiercely guarded secrets to making high-quality titanium dioxide made it the envy of the industry, an expert witness for federal prosecutors testified Tuesday in California in the trial of two men accused of stealing those secrets, shooting holes in their claim that DuPont's process had been public for decades.

Robert Gibney, a former senior vice president for titanium dioxide producer Tronox Ltd., testified that DuPont's titanium dioxide pigment was considered top of the line, commanding top dollar from customers such as paint companies....
